excerpt from an email from Ruth Anne Adams to Mary Scullion, dated ?.

Hi, Ryan was baptized yesterday and of course wore the "dress". Kierstin and Rebecca thought it was silly that he was wearing a dress when he is a boy. I tried to explain to them that boys wear a dress when they are baptized and that their older brother and their father and their uncles all wore the same dress.

I updated the history today and made some minor changes (adding the maiden names of the girls in our family). Please check it over and see if there are any additions or corrections. If you want the maiden names of your daughter-in-law, Mary, I will need the spelling. I put Gail's maiden name since she actually uses it and Christine's because she and Philip were not yet married when Amanda was baptized.

If any of you can be more accurate with dates, please let me know and I will make the necessary changes. You might also want to keep this on file so that it is never lost.

The dress is getting very frail - I have had to patch it the last few times I have done it up. I don't know if we could get it restored, so that we can continue to use it or if you want to permanently retire it. It would be beautiful if it was washed, ironed and then framed. But, what a shame that this tradition would not be able to continue. Let me know your thoughts on it.
