Robbie arrived in Dublin with a band from London called Rough Edge.  After a few weeks the band went home and forgot to bring Robbie with them. Following stints with various acts (The Business, Maura O'Connell , Red Peters) he was asked to play with Scullion on Greg Boland's departure and has been a regular feature since.  During his rest periods with the Scullion he has played with Sean Keane, Ealenor Shanley, Eimear Quinn, Karan Casey, Mary Black, Yung Cheng Llhamo and occasional duets with Sonny.
